The courses are fully facilitated by qualified lecturers who collaborate closely with you and your classmates during the process. Through your study, you may take part in a range of other activities including a combination of virtual classrooms (using Blackboard Collaborate), text discussions, journals and blogs, social media, quizzes, Web quests, online and offline reading, study and project activities.

Requirements:

This is what you will need to have access to enable you to study online:
 

Technical:

  • Reliable broadband internet access
  • Headset with speakers and microphone (for interactive Blackboard Collaborate sessions)
  • Computer with ability to edit Word Documents (.doc / .docx)
  • Computer with ability to view Adobe Portable Documents (.pdf)
  • Access to a video recording device with the capability to transfer to a computer / YouTube (e.g. iPhone or similar smartphone, or traditional video camcorder)
For fitness courses, you will also require access to a gym or fitness centre (work placement or employment) with a qualified Certificate IV Fitness Trainer
 

Your skills:

You will need some basic computer skills. 

See this checklist to assess whether you are ready to start learning online:
  • I can use a computer mouse (or track pad)
  • I can use a keyboard (non-expert typing is fine!)
  • I like learning new ways of using computers
  • I can use programs like Microsoft Office (Word is the most used)
