The reach project will provide a health check service delivered by student nurses under the supervision of experienced qualified nurses.

Reach is a community health initiative that provides basic health services to a variety of groups in the community.

Reach will provide clinical training opportunities for student enrolled and registered nurses and bring health services and support directly to community groups who may not normally access these.

For the community:

Reach  provides a roaming service to provide easy access to vital health services.

Reach will offer health checks which include:

  • Blood pressure check
  • Blood sugar level check
  • Cholesterol check
  • Health promotion

Reach wellness centres which will initially operate at Wandana and St Bartholomews clinic in East Perth will offer health checks plus:

  • Stress management
  • Relaxation exercises
  • Support

For students:

Reach will provide you with the necessary practical experience you need for your qualification. You will be supervised by fully qualified registered nurses, conducting health checks. Further down the track you will also run workshops to promote a healthy lifestyle.
