Schools

As a key contact for secondary school students, schools need succinct information on training and education options. Central can provide information sessions at your school, tours at Central and/or attendance at your school expo events.  


Take a tour of Central

Central invites school staff and students to visit the Perth campus to see first hand our excellent facilities and learning and teaching environment. Tours can be tailored to specific interest groups and combined with a Central presentation. A full tour may take up to an hour and a half.
 
During the tour you will:
  • Get a presentation on Central Institute of Technology course information
  • Experience student life on campus
  • Witness fitness students carry out personal training to clients in the gym
  • Explore our film & television studio and control room— watch radio broadcasting students and film students record live
  • Observe graphic design & photography students creating their work in the photography studio and computer labs
  • Watch students make jewellery in our state-of-the-art jewellery labs
  • Visit the library and the learning areas for our business, languages, health, engineering students - any areas your students may be interested in.
  • View the year round exhibitions at Gallery Central.

Tour Central's Cut Mine

Small tours of our underground CUT mine are available on request. Tours take between 30-60 minutes.

Help with Online Application Process

Central's Course Information & Schools Officers can assist your students with the State Training (formerly TAFE) admissions online application process. Why not combine a Central presentation with an Application Workshop? Book a computer room at your school and we can guide your students through the online application process.

Parent's Nights and Career Expos

Central's Schools Liaison Officers can attend and present at your schools Careers Expo and/ or Parents' Night, ensuring your parents and students receive current course and application information.

VET for Schools Program

There are two ways secondary school students can access vocational training.

  1. VET for Schools program. Vocational Education in schools allows students to complete school subjects and/or WACE while completing  some units or a full qualification at Central. more info
  2. Traineeship/Apprenticeship. more info
