Workforce Development Solutions

Central’s Aged Care team has a range of skills and knowledge to assist your organisation to manage the many challenges of Workforce Development. With the National Workforce Development Fund rounds announced, which opens the door for agencies to tailor their training needs, Central is well placed to assist agencies with formulating workforce development plans.  
 
Working closely with individual organisations, Central provides:
 
  • flexible training designed to maximise opportunities to build on employees’ on the job experiences, while reinforcing critical aspects of learning through targeted workshops.
  • Support for new employees through induction and entry level programs as well as up-skilling existing employees.
  • Alignment of training to career pathways and job roles in individual organisations.
  • Traineeships at Certificate III and IV level in Aged Care and Home and Community Care.

An overview of the extent of the training delivered to employees in the Aged Care sector in 2009-2010:
 
  • Major provider of training through the Better Skills Better Care and the Community Aged Care Workforce Development Commonwealth funded initiative for the third consecutive year.
  • Over one hundred staff across metropolitan and regional areas received training this year in Certificate III and Certificate IV Aged Care and Certificate III and IV in Home and Community Care with a similar number anticipated annually.
  • Over 250 further qualifications to be delivered in 2011 under the Aged Care Workforce Vocational Education and Training funding round.
  • Delivery of traineeships and work based training to approximately 50 support workers in Certificate III and IV Aged Care and Certificate III Home and Community Care across metropolitan and regional areas through State funded places.
  • Delivery of the Diploma of Service Coordination and Diploma of Frontline Management to support administrative workers and Aged Care management teams through recognition of existing skills and opportunity for skills development.
  • Provision of WELL projects to support the workplace literacy needs of agences.  These projects are designed to support employees overcome barriers to learning and career progression and assist them to achieve their training goals.  For employers they offer improved prospects for increased participation and productivity and return on investment through improved completion rates.

 

This broad experience has provided Central with the skills and expertise to assist agencies in workforce planning in order to provide a skilled workforce necessary for organisational sustainability
