This course will allow you to design and create a range of textiles from various experimental techniques. You will learn how to research and develop an idea, experiment and explore printing techniques such as screen printing, masking, relief and appliqué, finally producing a range of textiles that can be applied to personal clothing, homewares and industry.
Students will have to provide some materials.
Skills you will gain from this course
Central Fashion and Textiles Department is a well equipped facility including state of the art sewing machines, screen printing, dyeing, textile, pattern cutting and design studios. Our creative short course lecturers are industry practitioners and experts in their skills and fields. Our aim is to offer workshops and courses in specific skill areas for both beginners and those wanting to add to their current expertise. Creative short courses are not accredited; however they give participants an opportunity to experience some of the aspects our full time fashion and textiles courses have to offer.
