Become the driving force behind a film and television production and be the person to bring the film to the public! Work behind the scenes on your very own real-life production and produce short drama films on 16mm; where you'll try your hand at production activities.

Studying an Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Producer) you'll gain hands-on skills and experience, working with industry bodies such as ABC and Screenwest. You'll also undertake a stimulating work-placement program - best preparing you for a career in the film and television industry.

Central has a unique collaboration with Edith Cowan University and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) which enables Central graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media (Camera) to convert their qualification into a Bachelor of Communications (Media Studies) after completion of a 40 week intensive program.

Fee information


Domestic students:
The costs for this course for a semester are: $626 or $313 (concession). On top of this there is also a resource cost of $1523. The resource fee is an estimate because the amount depends on which units you choose. You will be given the exact amount at enrolment. Find out more about how the costs are determined.

An estimate of the total cost of the course is $4298 (non conc) over the one year the course takes to complete.

Paying your fees

You will be  expected to pay your course fees in full at the time of enrolment.

Fees can be paid at our student services offices at any of Central’s campuses. You can also pay by credit card over the phone, however, if you wish to pay by instalments, you will need to make your first payment in person and sign the payment plan terms and conditions.
